Breaker Cores
Breaker core is a core having central notched hole of a diameter which is less than the inside diameter of sleeve riser. This notched hole acts as a connection between casting body and the sleeve riser.
Though the hole diameter is much less than the sleeve inside diameter, feeding of casting through this connection is not affected and smaller diameter connection with the notch helps in removing riser very easily during fettling operation. Breaker cores are generally used in conjunction with blind sleeves.
